Amazon expanded its Seller Assistant on September 23, 2026, adding AI workflows that can watch a seller’s inventory, pricing, listings and account signals around the clock. Sellers can tell the assistant what to monitor and set the limits for any action. Amazon says actions taken through these workflows remain subject to seller review and approval.
The update also introduces an Amazon Selling Partner plugin for Amazon Quick and, in beta, Anthropic’s Claude. It connects a seller’s Amazon listing contributions, inventory levels, sales analytics and performance data to those AI tools. The plugin is currently in beta for sellers in Amazon’s U.S. stores; Amazon says international expansion will follow.
What can the new Seller Assistant do?
A seller can set a workflow to flag a low stock level, summarize orders, track pricing changes or identify a product opportunity. Amazon’s example goes further: the assistant could spot a competitive opening, propose a price adjustment and refresh a listing. Sellers choose whether a workflow produces recommendations or proposes actions, and Amazon says it records actions in an audit trail.
Seller Assistant also has persistent memory of a seller’s pricing patterns, inventory cycles and business goals. Amazon says the assistant can use that context to make more specific recommendations as the seller moves between Seller Central, Quick and Claude.
Does this mean a seller can hand over the entire store?
No. Amazon describes automation for defined, repeatable workflows, with seller-set guardrails and approval before actions are carried out. Inventory monitoring is also different from physically replenishing stock: a restock plan or draft purchase order still needs a seller’s operational follow-through. The announcement does not establish a fully autonomous store that can manage every listing, shipment and compliance decision without a person.
What Philippine sellers should check
For a Philippine business selling through an eligible Amazon store, the first question is availability: Amazon has specified a U.S.-store beta for the new plugin, with expansion later. A free 12-month Amazon Quick Plus offer is open to primary selling-account holders globally through December 31, 2026, but that offer should not be confused with immediate worldwide access to the plugin.
Before enabling an AI workflow, assign one person to approve listing and pricing changes; set price floors and stock thresholds; inspect product claims, images and descriptions before they go live; and review the action log. If the business connects another AI tool, check which account data it can access and who on the team has permission to use it. These are practical controls for an automated sales workflow, not a claim that Philippine law imposes a new rule specific to Amazon’s announcement.
This is a concrete step toward agentic commerce: software that can monitor a live store, reason across its data and prepare actions. For smaller teams, the gain may be fewer routine checks. The business still owns the accuracy of its catalog, its inventory decisions and the promises shown to buyers.
